Program Management Specialist – Health System Resiliency

About the role

The Program Management Specialist – Health System Resiliency will lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of initiatives that increase access to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) services through a resilient health system in Nepal. Reporting to the Head of Department (Partnership and Field Operation), the role combines strategic leadership with day‑to‑day project management.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and daily management of the project, ensuring delivery against approved work plans, timelines, budgets, and targets.
• Lead project planning, implementation, monitoring, and adaptive management across SRHR, climate resilience, and nutrition interventions.
• Ensure technical quality by collaborating with thematic specialists and promoting evidence‑informed, gender‑responsive approaches.
• Support implementing partners with capacity building, compliance, and timely execution of activities.
• Develop and maintain detailed implementation plans, project trackers, risk registers, and performance monitoring systems.
• Provide technical assistance to local and provincial governments on policy formulation, climate‑resilient health system guidelines, and drug/supply forecasting.
• Advocate with government officials and media to secure policy support and budget allocations for climate‑resilient SRHR services.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing large‑scale health or development programs, preferably in SRHR or climate‑resilient health systems.
• Strong understanding of Nepal’s health policy environment, gender‑responsive programming, and inclusive development.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate with government agencies, donors, and implementing partners.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills, with a focus on results‑based monitoring.
