Academic Head – IELTS & PTE Programs

About the role

The Academic Head will lead the consultancy’s IELTS and PTE preparation programmes, ensuring high‑quality teaching, curriculum design, and student outcomes. This senior position requires deep expertise in English‑language proficiency tests and strong leadership to mentor a team of instructors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all IELTS and PTE academic programmes.
• Develop, review, and continuously improve course structures, lesson plans, study materials, and mock‑test programmes.
• Maintain consistent, high‑quality teaching standards across all classes.
• Conduct regular performance reviews of instructors, providing feedback and coaching.
• Train, mentor, and support instructors to enhance teaching methodologies.
• Monitor student attendance, performance, mock‑test results, and final test outcomes.
• Identify academic weaknesses and implement improvement plans.
• Organise mock tests, assessments, evaluations, and academic workshops.
• Stay updated on changes to IELTS and PTE formats, scoring, and teaching methods.
• Coordinate with Counseling and Admissions to ensure seamless academic support.
• Handle student or parent concerns related to academic performance.
• Prepare academic reports and performance updates for management.
• Establish and monitor academic KPIs for instructors.
• Participate in recruitment and selection of new instructors.
• Support development of new academic programmes and improve student satisfaction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Management or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience as an IELTS and/or PTE instructor.
• Proven track record of delivering IELTS/PTE classes with strong student outcomes.
• Experience in an education consultancy, language institute or study‑abroad organisation is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IELTS and PTE test structures, assessment criteria, scoring and preparation strategies.
• Experience training, mentoring or supervising instructors is an advantage.
• Excellent academic planning, communication, presentation and leadership abilities.
• Analytical skills to assess student performance and devise improvement strategies.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving capabilities.
