District Project Coordinator – Rautahat, Nepal

About the role

The District Project Coordinator will lead the implementation of UNFPA‑supported integrated sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and gender‑based violence (GBV) interventions across assigned districts and municipalities in Rautahat. Reporting to the UNFPA Provincial Head, the incumbent will work closely with local authorities, implementing partners and UN agencies to ensure rights‑based, inclusive service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Support policy advocacy, planning and budgeting at sub‑national level, helping municipalities integrate SRHR and GBV priorities into plans and budgets.
• Coordinate programme implementation across districts, maintaining liaison with local governments, WHO, UNFPA teams and service‑delivery actors.
• Monitor quality and inclusiveness of trainings, community initiatives and service‑strengthening activities, ensuring alignment with rights‑based and survivor‑centered approaches.
• Facilitate mapping and use of multisectoral referral pathways linking health facilities, safe houses, justice and social protection services.
• Conduct regular field monitoring visits, document results, lessons learned and support reporting to donors and UNFPA.
• Promote a safe, inclusive working environment and support safeguarding, PSEA and child protection measures.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to transform, inspire and deliver high‑impact results in complex development settings.
• Experience in external relations, partnership‑building and resource mobilisation for SRHR and GBV programmes.
