Technical Furniture Designer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Furniture Designer to lead the technical and production aspects of our furniture manufacturing process. You will work closely with design and factory teams to ensure drawings are production‑ready, CNC files are correctly generated, and final pieces meet our quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review and verify technical drawings for accuracy before they reach the shop floor.
• Create detailed production drawings and cutting lists for factory use.
• Prepare CNC files using ArtCAM and coordinate with CNC operators to ensure correct execution.
• Inspect first‑piece samples, approve them for full production, and maintain quality control throughout all stages.
• Troubleshoot technical issues between design intent and shop‑floor execution.
• Maintain accurate records of hardware requirements, cutting lists, and production files.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Furniture Design, Interior Design, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in a modular furniture factory or similar production environment.
• Strong attention to detail and a quality‑focused mindset.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise between design and production teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SketchUp and AutoCAD.
• Strong working knowledge of ArtCAM for CNC file preparation.
• Solid understanding of furniture detailing, technical drawing standards, and modular joinery methods.
• Good knowledge of CNC processes, machine operations, and furniture hardware such as hinges, slides, and connectors.
