UK Senior Counsellor

About the role

The UK Senior Counsellor will guide Nepali students who wish to pursue higher education in the United Kingdom. Working full‑time on‑site in Kathmandu, the role involves one‑on‑one counselling, profile assessment, university and course recommendation, and support throughout the application and visa processes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct individual counselling sessions with prospective UK students.
• Assess academic and career profiles to recommend suitable universities, courses, and pathways.
• Assist students in preparing application documents, personal statements, and visa paperwork.
• Respond promptly to student inquiries and maintain accurate case records.
• Coordinate with UK partner institutions and internal teams to ensure smooth processing.
• Participate in information sessions, seminars, and outreach activities.
• Mentor junior counsellors and share best practices.
• Stay updated on UK higher‑education policies, admission requirements, and scholarship opportunities.

Required profile

• Strong counselling and advisory experience, preferably with UK study‑abroad pathways.
• Excellent spoken and written English, with culturally sensitive communication skills.
• Solid knowledge of UK higher‑education systems, admission processes, visa requirements, and scholarships.
• Organizational and time‑management abilities to handle multiple student cases and meet deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree in education, counselling, social sciences, business or a related field; advanced qualifications are a plus.
• Prior experience in an educational consultancy or international admissions office, especially with Nepali students.
• Commitment to ethical, transparent practices and student wellbeing.

Required skills

• Proficiency with basic office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets).
• Familiarity with digital research tools and online documentation platforms.
• Experience with CRM or student management systems (advantage).
