Fashion Designer Internship (Sustainable Brand)

About the role

Buneko, a Nepal‑based sustainable brand, is looking for a curious Fashion Designer intern to join its design and production team. You will help turn ideas into finished garments while learning the full product development cycle, from concept to sampling.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing new clothing designs and collections.
• Research fashion trends, textiles, materials, crafts and design references.
• Create moodboards, sketches and design concepts.
• Support fabric and material selection and help develop patterns, samples and prototypes.
• Work with local tailors and makers during sampling, fittings and garment alterations.
• Explore ways to use existing, surplus and locally available materials.
• Document design and sampling processes and assist with product measurements and technical specifications.
• Participate in photoshoots, styling and other creative projects when required.

Required profile

• Student or recent graduate in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Fine Arts or a related field.
• Strong interest in clothing, fashion and sustainable design.
• Basic understanding of garment construction and textiles.
• Ability to sketch and communicate design ideas clearly.
• Willingness to learn through hands‑on work and attention to detail.
• Curiosity about materials, up‑cycling and how things are made.
• Comfortable working with a small, growing team and collaborating with tailors and makers.
