Social Media and Business Development Officer

About the role

The Social Media and Business Development Officer will lead the company’s online presence while actively seeking new business opportunities. Based on‑site in Kathmandu, the role blends creative content management with strategic client acquisition to support the organization’s growth objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, create, and publish content across major social media platforms, maintaining editorial calendars and responding to audience interactions.
• Monitor engagement metrics, analyse performance data and recommend data‑driven improvements.
• Identify and qualify new business opportunities, support client acquisition, and nurture existing customer relationships.
• Assist in preparing business proposals, presentations and basic financial and sales reports.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure social media activities align with overall business goals and market trends.

Required profile

• Strong new‑business development skills, including opportunity identification and relationship building.
• Effective analytical abilities to interpret social media metrics and market data.
• Foundational understanding of finance for budgeting support, sales reporting, or revenue tracking.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for content creation, client interaction and internal collaboration.
• Solid customer‑service orientation with professionalism and responsiveness.
• Ability to work on‑site in Kathmandu, manage multiple tasks and collaborate within a diverse team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute.
• Prior experience in social media management, business development or marketing is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with major social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
• Experience using basic social media management tools.
