Assistant Production Manager – Paints & Coatings

About the role

The Assistant Production Manager will support day‑to‑day operations in a paints and coatings manufacturing plant, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining quality, safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, monitor and achieve daily, weekly and monthly production targets.
• Oversee batch processing, filling, assembly and packing activities according to SOPs.
• Track productivity, downtime, wastage and drive operational efficiency.
• Lead production supervisors and operators, conduct shift handovers and manage manpower deployment.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, GHP, 5S, plant hygiene and safety policies.
• Conduct regular audits, manage corrective actions and maintain accurate batch records.
• Promote continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing, waste‑reduction and process‑optimization initiatives.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably paints or coatings.
• Proven ability to lead production teams and manage shift operations.
• Strong understanding of GMP, safety and environmental regulations.
• Excellent organizational and problem‑solving skills.
