Consultant Pathologist

About the role

The Consultant Pathologist will lead laboratory operations across multiple sites in Dhangadhi, Surkhet and Birendranagar, ensuring accurate and timely diagnostic results. This senior‑level position combines hands‑on testing, quality management and team leadership in a clinical setting.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory workflow for biochemistry, hematology, immunology, immunopathology and clinical pathology, guaranteeing timely delivery of results.
• Perform and interpret advanced tests such as flow cytometry, immunoassays, immunoblot, EIA and molecular pathology assays.
• Implement and monitor quality control programs, ensure ISO 15189 compliance, and lead corrective‑preventive actions.
• Train, mentor and evaluate laboratory staff, fostering a collaborative and continuously improving environment.
• Act as primary liaison with referring physicians, providing clear diagnostic interpretations and recommendations.

Required profile

• MD in Pathology from a recognized institution.
• 1–2 years of experience in pathology or laboratory services.
• Strong knowledge of diagnostic pathology, laboratory procedures and quality standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Flow cytometry and immunophenotyping.
• Immunoassays, immunoblot and enzyme‑linked immunosorbent assay (EIA).
• Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and molecular pathology techniques.
• Quality control (QC) implementation and ISO 15189 compliance.
