Deputy Chief Financial Officer (Deputy CFO)

About the role

A reputable organization in Kathmandu is seeking a Deputy Chief Financial Officer to support the CFO in shaping financial strategy, overseeing reporting, budgeting, investments and compliance. The role demands strong leadership, analytical rigor and the ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the CFO with financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Prepare and review management reports, financial analyses and Board presentations.
• Monitor financial performance, profitability, budget variances and cost‑optimization initiatives.
• Oversee investment portfolios, capital allocation and performance of subsidiaries.
• Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards, tax laws, regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Strengthen internal controls, manage financial risks, fraud prevention and revenue leakage.
• Coordinate statutory audits, internal audits, tax matters and regulatory reporting.
• Lead financial due diligence, feasibility studies and business case evaluations.
• Supervise finance operations, vendor payments, contracts, reconciliations and system integrity.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely reporting and execution of strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA or CFA preferred.
• 8–10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, taxation, corporate finance, risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Experience in insurance, banking, financial services or large corporate environments is an advantage.
