Legal Officer

About the role

The Legal Officer will provide full‑time, on‑site legal support to Sopan Pharmaceuticals Limited in Kathmandu. This position is responsible for ensuring the company’s operations comply with business and pharmaceutical laws while delivering practical legal guidance to internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and manage contracts and other legal documents.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant business, pharmaceutical and regulatory statutes.
• Advise senior management on legal risks, obligations and strategic decisions.
• Liaise with external legal consultants as needed.
• Support regulatory and compliance initiatives across the organization.
• Assist in resolving legal disputes or issues related to company operations.
• Maintain accurate legal records and documentation.
• Track changes in laws and regulations affecting the pharmaceutical industry.
• Provide clear, actionable legal guidance to internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in law and business law, with ability to apply legal principles to corporate and pharmaceutical contexts.
• Proficiency in contract law and legal document preparation, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements.
• Experience in legal consulting, offering solution‑oriented advice to management.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law (LLB/LLM) from a recognized institution; license to practice law preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks related to pharmaceuticals or healthcare is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, research and written communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• High ethical standards, integrity and commitment to safe, compliant business practices.
