Legal Officer

About the role

The Legal Officer will provide comprehensive legal support and guidance to ensure the company's operations comply with all applicable laws, regulations, licenses, and regulatory requirements, particularly in the internet and telecommunications sector.

Key responsibilities

• Advise management and departments on day‑to‑day business activities.
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage contracts, MoUs, vendor agreements, service agreements, employment agreements and other legal documents.
• Ensure compliance with ISP and telecommunications regulations.
• Coordinate with regulatory authorities and government offices on legal and compliance matters.
• Handle legal notices, disputes, claims and litigation in coordination with external counsel.
• Review agreements with customers, dealers, distributors, suppliers and business partners.
• Provide advice on employment and labor matters, including disciplinary actions and employee agreements.
• Maintain records of contracts, legal documents, notices, licenses and regulatory correspondence.
• Monitor changes in relevant laws, regulations and policies and advise management.
• Support audits, investigations, regulatory inspections and legal proceedings.
• Identify legal risks and recommend mitigation measures.
• Coordinate with external lawyers, consultants, courts and government authorities as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in LLB (Bachelor of Laws) from a recognized university.
• 2–4 years of experience in legal practice, corporate legal affairs, compliance or a related field.
• Experience in Internet/ISP, Telecommunications, IT or Technology sector is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate law, labor law and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with Nepali legal and regulatory frameworks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
