Legal Officer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Legal Officer to support our legal, corporate, and regulatory functions in Kathmandu. The role involves managing litigation, ensuring statutory compliance, drafting contracts, and liaising with government authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Handle civil and criminal litigation, including drafting pleadings, writs, defenses and other legal documents.
• Coordinate with external counsel and support ongoing litigation matters.
• Advise on statutory and regulatory compliance and ensure timely filings.
• Conduct legal research and prepare opinions on corporate and civil issues.
• Draft, review and manage legal letters, contracts and agreements.
• Assist in developing, implementing and updating company policies.
• Manage filing, registration of required documents, forms, returns and applications.
• Coordinate with government authorities, regulators, ministries and other stakeholders.
• Provide support on corporate social responsibility and industrial/labor law matters.
• Represent the organization before tribunals, consumer forums, boards and other quasi‑judicial bodies.
• Coordinate regulatory approvals with central and local government authorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law (LLB/LLM).
• 4–5+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in an MNC or corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of corporate, civil, labor and regulatory laws.
• Excellent legal drafting, research, negotiation and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage litigation and regulatory matters independently.
• Strong stakeholder management and problem‑solving skills.
