MEAL Associate – Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning

About the role

The MEAL Associate will support monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities for the RMNCAH Improvement Project and the ASRH & Telehealth Project in Taplejung. The role ensures high‑quality data collection, analysis and reporting to drive evidence‑based decision‑making and compliance with donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the project’s MEAL plan, track indicators, maintain indicator sheets and databases, and coordinate data collection with municipalities, health facilities and other stakeholders.
• Conduct field visits, verify data quality, compile monitoring findings, and produce monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
• Manage community feedback and complaint mechanisms, ensuring beneficiary input (especially from women, adolescents, Dalits and persons with disabilities) informs project adaptations.
• Support safeguarding, risk management and inclusion policies, reporting any incidents of abuse or exploitation promptly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Statistics or a related field.
• Minimum three years of post‑graduate experience in M&E, research or data management, preferably in health projects in Nepal.
• Proven experience developing and implementing MEAL plans, frameworks and data collection tools.

Required skills

• Proficiency with statistical software such as SPSS, STATA or R.
• Experience using mobile data collection platforms (e.g., Kobo Toolbox, ODK).
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and database management.
• Ability to create data visualisations and manage HMIS/LMIS data.
