Operations Manager, Flash Flood Response

About the role

The Operations Manager will lead the implementation of flash flood response projects in the Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts of Nepal. Reporting to the Response Manager, you will ensure timely, high‑quality delivery that meets donor requirements and aligns with WVI Nepal’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all project activities across sectors such as food assistance, shelter, cash‑voucher assistance, WASH, health, nutrition, education, child protection and livelihood recovery.
• Develop and maintain integrated implementation plans, district work plans, spending forecasts and response milestones.
• Provide operational leadership, decision‑making and risk mitigation to address implementation challenges.
• Supervise, coach and manage performance of district‑based response staff and the Rasuwa District Coordinator.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensuring effective collaboration with local governments, donors, UN agencies and partner NGOs.
• Ensure compliance with financial, supply‑chain, monitoring, evaluation, accountability and safeguarding standards.
• Generate periodic reports and support evidence‑based decision‑making through data analysis.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing multi‑sector humanitarian projects, preferably in disaster‑affected settings.
• Strong knowledge of donor compliance, financial management and supply‑chain processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with government, UN and NGO partners.
• Commitment to staff well‑being, safety and safeguarding principles.
