Senior MEP Engineer – Hospitality Construction

About the role

RV Group Nepal is looking for a Senior MEP Engineer to lead the planning, design coordination, execution and quality control of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing works for a high‑end hospitality development. The role combines technical expertise with leadership to ensure all MEP systems meet luxury brand standards, safety regulations and project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Review and coordinate MEP designs, shop drawings and specifications for new hotel or resort projects.
• Ensure mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire‑protection systems align with luxury hospitality brand standards.
• Supervise MEP contractor activities, site installations and commissioning of HVAC, electrical distribution and plumbing systems.
• Enforce fire, life‑safety and building‑code compliance throughout all project phases.
• Oversee daily operations, preventive maintenance and rapid troubleshooting of hotel plant and utility equipment.
• Drive sustainability initiatives and energy‑efficiency measures in line with LEED or Earth Check certifications.
• Manage the engineering and maintenance team, provide technical guidance and conduct performance evaluations.
• Control MEP project and operational budgets, negotiate with vendors and manage contracts.

Required profile

• Extensive experience on hotel or resort MEP projects, preferably in luxury hospitality.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate with architects, interior designers and consultants.
• Strong knowledge of local, national and international building and safety codes.
• Experience managing budgets, vendor contracts and commercial negotiations.

Required skills

• HVAC system design and energy modeling.
• Electrical power distribution, lighting design, emergency power and telecommunication networks.
• Plumbing design for potable water, wastewater, fuel piping and fire‑suppression systems.
• Load calculations for heating, cooling and electrical demand.
• 3D BIM clash detection and spatial coordination.
• Fire protection system design and compliance.
• Preventive and predictive maintenance planning for chillers, boilers, generators and water‑treatment plants.
• Knowledge of LEED, Earth Check or similar green‑building certification requirements.
