Senior MEP Engineer – Hospitality Construction

About the role

We are looking for a Senior MEP Engineer to lead the mechanical, electrical and plumbing design for hospitality construction projects. The role requires a seasoned professional with at least ten years of experience to deliver safe, code‑compliant solutions and to coordinate across multiple disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end MEP design coordination for hotels, covering HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and related utilities.
• Review consultant and contractor shop drawings, IFC/BIM outputs and technical submittals for compliance with project specifications and codes.
• Develop MEP scopes of work, technical standards and design deliverables that meet hospitality comfort, energy‑efficiency and redundancy requirements.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, civil, fire/life‑safety and other trade teams to avoid clashes and rework.
• Resolve MEP technical issues during site queries, inspections and commissioning activities.
• Oversee system planning for commissioning readiness, including pre‑functional checklists, testing documentation and hand‑over support.
• Manage and mentor the MEP engineering team and liaise with vendors and subcontractors to maintain quality and schedule.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of MEP engineering experience, preferably on hospitality or complex commercial projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, conduct design reviews and make technical decisions.
• Strong cross‑functional coordination skills with architects, structural engineers, fire safety and construction stakeholders.
• In‑depth knowledge of Nepalese building codes and international standards for electrical safety, plumbing and HVAC design.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit, including 3D coordination practices.
• Experience with BIM and IFC model review.
• Integration of Building Management Systems (BMS) and control strategies for HVAC and lighting.
• Design expertise in HVAC, plumbing and electrical distribution systems.
• Knowledge of energy‑efficiency design, load calculations and system optimization.
• Commissioning support, including pre‑functional and functional testing documentation.
