Senior MEP Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior MEP Engineer to lead mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design for hospitality construction projects. The role requires a seasoned professional with at least 10 years of experience to deliver safe, code‑compliant solutions and coordinate across multiple disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end MEP design coordination for hospitality buildings, covering HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and utilities.
• Review consultant and contractor shop drawings, IFC/BIM outputs and technical submittals for compliance with specifications and codes.
• Develop MEP scopes of work, technical standards and design deliverables aligned with comfort, energy efficiency and redundancy requirements.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, civil, fire/life‑safety and other trades to avoid clashes and rework.
• Resolve MEP technical issues during site queries, inspections and commissioning activities.
• Oversee system planning for commissioning readiness, including pre‑functional checklists and testing documentation.
• Manage and mentor the MEP engineering team and liaise with vendors/sub‑contractors to maintain quality and schedule.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of MEP engineering experience, preferably on hospitality or complex commercial projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and guide technical decision‑making.
• Strong cross‑functional coordination skills with architects, structural engineers, fire safety and construction stakeholders.
• In‑depth knowledge of building codes and standards applicable in Nepal and international hospitality practices.

Required skills

• AutoCAD and/or Revit proficiency, including 3D coordination.
• BIM coordination and IFC model review.
• Building Management System (BMS) integration and controls strategy.
• HVAC, plumbing and electrical system design.
• Load calculation, energy‑efficiency design and system selection optimization.
• Commissioning support – pre‑functional and functional testing documentation.
