Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Accountant to manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensure tax and statutory compliance, prepare financial reports, and handle payroll functions. The role requires strong analytical abilities and a high level of accuracy to support the organization’s financial health.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records, reconcile bank statements and advance deposits, and process vendor payments and client refunds.
• Handle tax, VAT and TDS compliance, prepare electronic returns via the IRD portal, and upload monthly sales data to CBMS.
• Prepare monthly profit & loss statements, management reports, and monitor cash flow, expenses and outstanding balances.
• Coordinate audit and tax office activities, gather required documents, and provide supporting evidence during audits.
• Calculate salaries, prepare payroll sheets, and maintain employee payment records.
• Ensure confidentiality of financial information and support budgeting and cost‑control initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting/Finance.
• Prior accounting experience, preferably in a travel agency or service‑based business.
• Good knowledge of Nepalese accounting standards, VAT, TDS and IRD compliance.
• Ability to work independently, meet statutory deadlines and maintain high accuracy.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel and Google Sheets.
• Experience using IRD online portals and CBMS.
• Strong reconciliation and analytical capabilities.
