Assistant Manager – Human Resources (Birgunj)

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Human Resources will support and coordinate core HR functions for on‑site operations in Birgunj. Based in Kathmandu, the role works full‑time on‑site, assisting recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee relations while ensuring compliance with HR policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in recruitment and selection processes, including candidate screening and interview coordination.
• Manage onboarding, orientation and maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
• Implement HR policies, support performance‑management cycles and coordinate training and development activities.
• Handle employee‑relations issues, facilitate communication between staff and management, and contribute to HR reporting and compliance.
• Collaborate with senior HR leaders on projects, process improvements and initiatives that boost employee engagement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field; HR certifications are a plus.
• 4‑5 years of experience in an HR generalist or assistant‑manager role, preferably in a consulting or multi‑client environment.
• Strong organizational, time‑management and confidentiality skills.
• Ability to manage HR documentation, HRIS or employee databases and handle reporting tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with HRIS systems or HR software and ability to adapt to new tools.
