Barista – Full‑time on‑site role

About the role

The Barista will work full‑time on‑site at the Youth Vision Academy in Kathmandu, preparing and serving a variety of coffee and non‑coffee beverages while ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for guests and learners.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages according to recipes and quality standards.
• Operate coffee machines and equipment, and handle light food preparation for snacks.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow hygiene and safety practices.
• Greet guests, take orders, process payments, and deliver friendly, efficient service.
• Assist with inventory checks, restock supplies, and collaborate with team members.

Required profile

• Proven barista skills and experience with beverage preparation and coffee equipment.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal abilities.
• Clear communication skills for taking orders and explaining menu items.
• Basic food preparation knowledge and understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Reliability, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Prior experience in a café, hotel or hospitality setting is beneficial.
• Basic numeracy for handling cash and point‑of‑sale systems.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a training‑focused environment.
