Category Head – E-commerce

About the role

The Category Head will drive growth, profitability, and strategic direction of assigned product categories across the e‑commerce business, leading vendor partnerships, brand management, assortment planning, pricing, promotions, inventory, and performance optimization.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category growth strategies to maximize revenue, profitability, and market share.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, distributors, and brand partners, leading commercial negotiations on pricing, margins, rebates, and promotional support.
• Manage brand relationships, co‑create annual business plans, ensure strong brand visibility across digital and offline touchpoints, and drive brand growth through exclusive launches.
• Optimize product assortment based on customer demand, sales performance, and market trends; manage product lifecycle from launch to discontinuation.
• Develop competitive pricing strategies while maintaining profitability; monitor competitor pricing and manage category margins, promotional budgets, and trade investments.
• Coordinate with planning and operations teams to ensure optimal inventory levels, forecast demand, and improve inventory turnover and working capital efficiency.
• Monitor category KPIs, generate data‑driven insights, and present performance reviews to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field (Master's preferred).
• 5–8+ years of experience in Category Management, Buying, Merchandising, Brand Management, or Commercial functions, preferably in e‑commerce or related sectors.
• Proven experience in vendor negotiations and strategic brand partnerships.
• Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.
