Category Head

About the role

The Category Head will lead the development and execution of category strategies for multiple product lines, including fashion, mommy & baby, home appliances, and lifestyle. This senior role is responsible for driving sales, profitability, market share and overall category growth while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies to achieve sales, margin and market‑share targets across diverse product categories.
• Analyze market trends, customer behavior, competitor activity and category performance to uncover growth opportunities.
• Set revenue goals, business plans and KPIs; monitor performance and report insights to senior management.
• Build and manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, distributors and brand partners; lead commercial negotiations on pricing, margins, rebates and promotional support.
• Identify, evaluate and onboard new brands and vendors aligned with the category strategy.
• Manage product assortment, merchandising, launches, replenishment and lifecycle while optimizing inventory levels.
• Develop pricing and promotional strategies, assess ROI and maintain healthy margins.
• Coordinate with procurement, planning, marketing and operations to ensure product availability.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of category managers/executives to meet business objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5–8+ years of experience in Category Management, Buying, Merchandising, Brand Management or Commercial Operations.
• Experience in e‑commerce, retail, FMCG, fashion, mommy & baby, home appliances or consumer electronics.
• Strong vendor management, negotiation, pricing and merchandising expertise.
• Proven ability to develop and execute category growth strategies and business plans.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales, margin, inventory and customer data.
