Civil Engineering Manager

About the role

A leading hydropower company in Nepal is seeking an experienced Manager – Civil Engineering to oversee project and engineering operations. The role includes technical reviews, project monitoring, cost validation and coordination with contractors, consultants and government authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in project design reviews, cost validation and preparation/review of technical specifications.
• Review project reports, contractual documents, invoices, drawings and technical sub‑mittals from contractors, consultants and third parties.
• Support the Engineering Department in evaluating technical matters and taking necessary actions.
• Monitor and report daily project progress, closely tracking civil and construction activities.
• Coordinate with the company’s technical advisors and lending‑institution advisors, reviewing their reports.
• Prepare monthly progress and project reports for Government of Nepal authorities and Nepal Electricity Authority.
• Develop professional PowerPoint presentations for directors, government authorities and other stakeholders.
• Review and certify interim payment applications/certificates submitted by construction contractors.
• Validate overall project costs, milestones and progress records.
• Resolve technical and project‑related issues by coordinating with project teams, contractors, consultants and other stakeholders.
