Communications Specialist

About the role

The Communications Specialist will support the Udaya project, a Swiss‑funded initiative aimed at strengthening SME development in Koshi Province, Nepal. Working closely with the project team and the Government of Koshi Province, you will raise the visibility of project results and ensure effective outreach to stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy for Udaya Phase 1.
• Produce and disseminate project updates through press releases, newsletters, social media, and the digital information portal.
• Coordinate with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) on branding and communication matters.
• Collect field stories, capture photos and videos, and create multimedia content for outreach.
• Plan and execute social‑media campaigns and other innovative communication tools.
• Support stakeholder engagement and maintain regular communication with key partners.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months of professional experience in communications, public relations, or media for development projects.
• Ability to work full‑time (or part‑time) on a fixed‑term basis from August 2026 to November 2026, with possible extension.
• Strong written and verbal English skills.
• Experience working in a multicultural, development‑focused environment.
