Electrical Engineer

About the role

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring reliable operation of all electrical systems supporting mining, crushing, processing and other plant activities. This role combines preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance with technical support and safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance of motors, generators, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, control panels, distribution boards and protection systems.
• Inspect, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, performing root‑cause analysis to minimise downtime.
• Monitor and maintain electrical systems for crushers, conveyors, pumps, compressors, lighting and other industrial assets.
• Support installation, testing, commissioning and modification of electrical equipment and infrastructure.
• Analyse power consumption, identify energy‑efficiency opportunities and contribute to cost reduction.
• Ensure all work follows electrical safety standards, LOTO procedures and company policies.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, participate in toolbox talks and incident investigations.
• Assist in electrical projects, plant expansions and equipment upgrades, reviewing drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate and supervise electricians, technicians and contractors during maintenance and project activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electrical maintenance within mining or heavy‑industrial environments.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety regulations and lockout/tagout practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively with operations, maintenance and external service providers.
• Good documentation skills for maintenance records, technical reports and budgets.
