Electronics Hardware & PCB Design Engineer

About the role

Eraaz Tech is expanding into integrated hardware‑software solutions and seeks an experienced Electronics Hardware and PCB Design Engineer. You will lead the development of a custom industrial controller from concept through to a production‑ready hardware platform.

Key responsibilities

• Define complete hardware architectures, select components, and create schematics and multilayer PCB layouts.
• Design power systems (5‑28 V input, DC‑DC converters, battery backup) and protected industrial I/O.
• Integrate wired (Ethernet, CAN, RS485, UART, SPI, I²C) and optional wireless/cellular modules.
• Perform calculations for power consumption, thermal budget, signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and ensure compliance with creepage, clearance, and isolation standards.
• Prepare fabrication packages, support prototype assembly, bring‑up, testing, debugging, and production release.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in electronics hardware development and custom microcontroller‑based PCB design.
• Proven ability to independently assess requirements, make engineering decisions, and document trade‑offs.
• Experience bringing up, troubleshooting, and validating assembled prototypes.
• Familiarity with industrial automation, telemetry, or high‑reliability environments is a plus.

Required skills

• PCB design tools: Altium Designer, KiCad, Cadence Allegro, OrCAD, Siemens Xpedition/PADS.
• Microcontroller selection, programming, debugging circuits.
• DC‑DC power conversion (buck, boost, buck‑boost), battery charging, power‑path management.
• Industrial communication interfaces: Ethernet, CAN, RS485, UART, SPI, I²C.
• Protected I/O: relay drivers, MOSFET drivers, pulse‑counting, analog conditioning, current‑loop inputs.
• Multilayer PCB design, stack‑up planning, signal integrity, EMI/EMC, controlled impedance, high‑speed routing.
• Design for manufacturability (DFM), assembly (DFA), testing (DFT), creepage/clearance, IPC standards.
