Engineering Manager – Data

About the role

Abacus Insights is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a globally distributed data engineering team. The role blends client delivery, technical execution, and people leadership to ensure high‑quality implementations for health‑plan customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end client implementations, delivering on time and meeting quality standards.
• Provide technical direction for ETL, data mapping, and integration workflows, promoting consistency and best practices.
• Collaborate with offshore teams to coordinate delivery, align priorities, and maintain operational rigor.
• Mentor engineers, foster a performance‑driven culture, and define team success metrics.
• Support delivery management, resource planning, and prioritization with product teams.

Required profile

• 7+ years of data engineering experience, including client‑facing implementations.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• Proven experience leading and mentoring technical teams.
• Strong communication skills and a data‑driven approach to problem solving.
