About the role
We are looking for a Finance Incharge to run the complete finance function of our Nepal office in Kathmandu. This full‑time position in Finance & Accounts ensures every rupee is planned, approved, recorded, and reported properly.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and monitor monthly budgets and cash‑flow forecasts, approve fund requests and explain major variances.
- Manage bank balances, petty cash and staff advances, ensuring timely settlement.
- Approve payments within budget, supported by proper documentation and authority limits.
- Control purchases through quotation rules, fair pricing, receipt verification and supplier contract management.
- Maintain accurate books, ledgers, bank reconciliations and fixed‑asset register.
- Produce monthly MIS reports and annual financial statements under NFRS/NAS.
- Handle Income Tax, VAT and TDS returns, and annual filings with the Companies Registrar.
- Support statutory, tax and internal audits, and close audit findings promptly.
- Lead, guide and train the finance team, acting as the main contact for management, auditors, banks and tax authorities.
- Continuously improve internal controls, finance policies and accounting systems to reduce manual work and speed month‑end closing.
Required profile
- Master of Business Studies (MBS), semi‑qualified CA or equivalent qualification.
- 7+ years of finance and accounts experience handling budgets, payments, purchase checks and tax compliance in a medium or large organisation.
- Proven experience working under a formal approval system with defined authority limits.
- Strong understanding of NFRS/NAS and Nepal’s Income Tax, VAT and TDS regulations.
- Excellent written and spoken communication in Nepali and English.
- Ability to lead a small team and meet strict deadlines.
Required skills
- Proficiency with accounting or ERP software.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups and reconciliation.
