FreeCAD Specialist (Remote Contractor)

About the role

We are looking for a FreeCAD Specialist to join SME Careers, a fast‑growing AI data services company. This hourly, remote contractor position focuses on creating realistic, challenging computer‑based tasks using FreeCAD and documenting them for AI training.

Key responsibilities

• Design and document realistic FreeCAD tasks that can be executed on a computer.
• Prepare the work environment, ensuring FreeCAD and all required assets are ready before recording.
• Record yourself performing the task, capturing clear, complete workflow videos.
• Provide detailed task context, steps, goals, dimensions, and notes for reviewers.
• Demonstrate practical use of FreeCAD workbenches such as Sketcher, Part Design, TechDraw, assemblies, exports, and troubleshooting.
• Review recordings and documentation to meet project quality guidelines.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with FreeCAD for parametric modeling, sketching, constraints, technical drawings, and related CAD workflows.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher for understanding instructions and clear documentation.
• Comfortable managing files, installing software, navigating interfaces, and recording screen activity.
• Ability to devise realistic, challenging CAD tasks that reflect real‑world product design or mechanical modeling.
