Grade In‑charge (Grades 1‑5)

About the role

The Grade In‑charge leads the academic, behavioural, administrative and pastoral coordination for a specific grade level (Grades 1‑5) at Millsberry School. The role ensures that teaching, learning and student development align with school standards, Cambridge International practices and the RICER values framework.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor curriculum implementation, lesson‑plan completion and syllabus coverage across all classes.
• Track student learning progress, identify slow learners and high achievers, and coordinate support programmes.
• Supervise teacher attendance, punctuality and classroom delivery; provide feedback and guidance to improve instruction.
• Enforce school discipline rules and RICER values, address behavioural issues and promote positive character development.
• Monitor daily student attendance, academic weaknesses and ensure completion of classwork, homework, projects and activities.
• Communicate regularly with parents about academic progress, behaviour, emergencies and extra‑curricular activities.
• Coordinate grade participation in Open House, Annual Day, Sports Day, CCA/ECA activities, field trips and school exhibitions.
• Ensure student safety, respond to medical emergencies and collaborate with the school medical unit.
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment and enforce proper uniform standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in school administration or grade‑level leadership (minimum 5 years preferred).
• Strong ability to supervise and support teachers, monitor student performance and manage discipline.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with parents, staff and school leadership.
• Organisational skills to coordinate activities, events and safety procedures.
