Human Resource and Organizational Development Consultant

About the role

Hamro Palo, a women‑led nonprofit in Nepal, seeks an experienced Human Resource and Organizational Development Consultant to assess its current structures and design practical, gender‑responsive systems. Over the next 12 months the consultant will help the organization build a stronger senior management framework, decentralise decision‑making, and improve staff performance, well‑being and retention.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the organisational structure, staffing, job descriptions, workloads, reporting lines and HR practices.
• Develop recommendations for a revised organisational structure, delegation of authority and a phased implementation plan.
• Design leadership‑development and succession‑planning interventions, identifying potential internal leaders and outlining coaching, mentoring and job‑shadowing activities.
• Propose measures to enhance staff motivation, retention, well‑being and a culture of feminist leadership and inclusion.
• Review and strengthen HR policies, performance‑management tools and ensure alignment with Nepal’s labour laws and nonprofit sector standards.

Required profile

• Qualified individual consultant or consulting firm registered and eligible to work in Nepal.
• Proven experience in human‑resource management, organisational development and capacity‑building for NGOs or similar organisations.
• Strong knowledge of Nepal’s labour legislation and nonprofit‑sector requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership, board members and field teams.
