International Trade & Compliance Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced International Trade & Compliance Manager to lead cross‑border trade operations between China and Nepal, focusing on agricultural, food and consumer product categories.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end import and export projects between China and Nepal, covering quotation, contracting, payment, documentation, transportation, customs clearance and delivery.
• Conduct feasibility and compliance assessments for new agricultural, food and consumer products, including import licences, HS‑code classification, product registration and quarantine requirements.
• Prepare and review all trade documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, phytosanitary certificates and customs declarations.
• Coordinate logistics, freight forwarders, customs brokers and warehouses to ensure timely shipment and resolve any documentation or clearance issues.
• Handle trade finance arrangements, including telegraphic transfers and letters of credit, and work closely with banks and the finance team.
• Calculate landed cost, identify risks across payment, customs, tax and product quality, and report significant issues to management.
• Develop and maintain internal SOPs and traceable records for each transaction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Business, Supply Chain, Law or related field.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on international trade experience, preferably with agricultural or food products.
• Strong knowledge of Nepalese import regulations and Chinese export procedures.
• Proven experience with customs clearance, HS‑code classification, import licences and product registration.
• Practical experience handling TT and LC transactions.
• Fluent English; Chinese language skills are a plus.
