Junior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and responsible Accountant to manage daily accounting operations, financial reporting, tax compliance, payroll, and billing activities. Candidates with prior experience in the jewellery business will be preferred. The selected candidate will receive guidance and training from a senior accountant.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions, including sales, purchases, payments, receipts, and other accounting entries.
• Prepare and maintain financial statements, including trial balance, balance sheet, and profit and loss statements.
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns, TDS, business taxes, rental taxes, and other applicable government tax reports.
• Calculate and process employee payroll accurately and on time.
• Handle daily billing operations and assist with over‑the‑counter jewellery sales when required.
• Prepare financial reports and assist in monitoring business performance.
• Conduct regular stock counting and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with accounting procedures and applicable tax regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience; experience in the jewellery business is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage accounting tasks independently while coordinating with the senior accountant.
• Willingness to assist with billing and customer‑facing jewellery sales when needed.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Practical experience preparing trial balances, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.
• Experience with VAT return preparation, TDS filing, payroll processing, and bank reconciliation.
