Junior System Administrator (IT)

About the role

HiTech Solutions and Services Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a motivated Junior System Administrator to join its IT department in Kathmandu. You will support daily server operations, user and device management, deployments, and basic DevOps tasks while collaborating with senior engineers to maintain a secure and reliable IT environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain desktop and server operating systems, hardware and software.
• Monitor server performance, uptime, storage and backups; assist with patching and routine maintenance.
• Create and manage user accounts, permissions and access rights in Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
• Provision, configure and inventory laptops, desktops and mobile devices; support onboarding and off‑boarding.
• Assist in hardware, software and system update deployments following change‑management procedures.
• Support basic CI/CD pipeline tasks, build/release activities and version control using Git.
• Automate routine administrative tasks with PowerShell, Bash or similar scripting languages.
• Help maintain network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, Wi‑Fi) and implement security measures such as antivirus and data backup policies.
• Coordinate with vendors for procurement and repairs and keep documentation up to date.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or currently pursuing such a degree.
• Minimum 1 year of hands‑on experience in system administration or a closely related IT role.
