Mechanical Engineer – Hydropower Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our leading hydropower company and support the operation, maintenance, and design of our >50 MW hydropower projects across Nepal. The role involves ensuring reliable plant performance and contributing to the development of hydromechanical and electromechanical components.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support day‑to‑day operations and maintenance of hydropower plants.
• Monitor mechanical equipment to guarantee efficient and reliable performance.
• Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Design, review, and optimise hydromechanical and electromechanical components for new and existing projects.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
• Identify technical issues and deliver effective engineering solutions.
• Coordinate with project and engineering teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Ensure compliance with technical, safety, and project requirements.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in hydropower plant operations, maintenance, or design.
• Strong understanding of hydromechanical and electromechanical systems.
• Ability to read and produce technical drawings and specifications.
• Problem‑solving mindset with a focus on reliability and safety.
