Mid-Level Client Accountant (Trading Business)

About the role

Shankar Associates, Chartered Accountants (SACA) is seeking a dynamic Mid‑Level Client Accountant to manage accounting, tax compliance and import‑related financial activities for trading business clients in Kathmandu.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records and reconcile all financial transactions for assigned trading clients.
• Handle import‑related accounting, including TT and LC transactions and foreign‑exchange gain/loss.
• Prepare and file VAT, TDS and other statutory tax returns within deadlines.
• Perform vendor, supplier and bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Produce periodic financial reports, management information and ad‑hoc schedules using Excel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CA/ACCA/CPA studies advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a trading‑business environment.
• Strong analytical ability, high attention to detail and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
• Professional conduct with commitment to confidentiality.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Practical experience with VAT, TDS and tax filing procedures.
• Understanding of import accounting, TT and LC transactions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data handling.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
