Project Manager – Hydropower Projects

About the role

BG Group is looking for a Project Manager to lead hydropower and infrastructure projects in the Kaski and Manang districts of Nepal. The role focuses on delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards while meeting all regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all phases of the project lifecycle from feasibility and design through construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, electrical, and hydrology engineers to ensure technical soundness of headworks, penstock, powerhouse, and transmission lines.
• Liaise with the Department of Electricity Development, local authorities, and community stakeholders.
• Manage project schedules, cost control, procurement, and contract administration.
• Supervise environmental and social safeguard compliance in line with EIA requirements.
• Monitor construction quality, safety standards, and risk management.
• Prepare and present regular progress reports to owners, investors, and authorities.
• Facilitate resettlement and community engagement programs for affected households.
• Prepare construction schedules and coordinate timely mobilization of equipment with the mechanical department.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading hydropower or large‑scale infrastructure projects.
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of Nepalese regulatory bodies and community engagement processes.
• Experience in schedule, cost, procurement, and contract management.
