Senior Database Administrator

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our critical database platforms. The role involves ensuring high performance, availability, and security across MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, SQLite and related technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, SQLite, and other database systems.
• Monitor database performance, availability, and health; troubleshoot and resolve issues proactively.
• Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and capacity planning.
• Manage backup, recovery, disaster recovery (DR), and high availability (HA) solutions, including replication and failover.
• Implement database security, user access management, encryption, and patching.
• Automate database administration tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Support production environments, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and provide Level 3 support.
• Collaborate with Development, Infrastructure, DevOps, Cloud, and Security teams to ensure reliable database operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
• 4–5 years of hands‑on database administration experience in production environments.
• Proven experience with MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB and SQLite.
• Strong knowledge of SQL optimization, indexing, execution plans, partitioning and performance tuning.
• Experience with replication, high availability, backup and disaster recovery.
• Familiarity with AWS RDS and Linux/Windows server environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and perform root‑cause analysis.
