Senior MEP Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior MEP Engineer to lead mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design for hospitality construction projects in Kathmandu. The role involves delivering safe, code‑compliant designs and coordinating across disciplines from design through commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end MEP design coordination for hospitality buildings, covering HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and utilities.
• Review consultant and contractor shop drawings, IFC/BIM outputs and technical submittals for compliance with specifications and codes.
• Develop MEP scopes of work, technical standards and design deliverables that meet comfort, energy‑efficiency and redundancy requirements.
• Coordinate cross‑functional interfaces with architectural, structural, civil, fire/life‑safety and trade teams to avoid clashes and rework.
• Support site execution by resolving technical issues during queries, inspections and commissioning.
• Oversee commissioning planning, including pre‑functional checklists, testing documentation and hand‑over support.
• Mentor and manage the MEP engineering team and liaise with vendors/sub‑contractors to maintain quality and schedule.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering.
• 10+ years of MEP engineering experience, preferably in hospitality or complex commercial projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage design reviews.
• Strong coordination skills across architectural, structural, MEP trades, fire/life‑safety and site execution stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Nepalese building codes and international standards used in hospitality projects.

Required skills

• HVAC, plumbing and electrical system design.
• BMS/controls integration and sequence‑of‑operation development.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit with 3D coordination.
• Technical review of IFC/BIM models and shop drawings.
