Senior Network & Systems Administrator

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network & Systems Administrator to oversee and optimise our enterprise IT infrastructure, including LAN/WAN networks, servers, virtualisation platforms and data‑centre operations. The role demands strong hands‑on expertise, independent troubleshooting and a proactive stance on reliability, security and business continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, monitor and troubleshoot enterprise LAN/WAN, VLANs, routing (BGP, OSPF), switching and VPN connectivity, including firewall policies and site‑to‑site links.
• Administer Linux and Windows Server environments, perform OS patching, firmware updates and capacity planning.
• Manage VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter virtual infrastructure, including VM provisioning, HA/DRS and lifecycle operations.
• Support core services such as DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Group Policy and backup/recovery solutions.
• Monitor infrastructure health with tools like Zabbix, Grafana or Checkmk, and lead incident response, RCA and change management processes.
• Maintain data‑centre operations, hardware installation, redundancy designs (N+1/N+N) and accurate asset documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on network and systems administration experience in an enterprise or data‑centre environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven ability to work independently, own complex issues and collaborate across NOC, security and support teams.
• Strong analytical, documentation and communication skills.

Required skills

• TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing (BGP, OSPF), switching and VPN technologies.
• Firewall administration (Fortinet, Palo Alto or equivalent) and network security best practices.
• Linux and Windows Server administration, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy.
• VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, HA/DRS and virtual‑machine lifecycle management.
• Infrastructure monitoring (Zabbix, Grafana, Checkmk) and backup/disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Scripting/automation with Bash, PowerShell or Python.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and ISO 27001 compliance.
