Service In‑Charge – Automotive Workshop Manager

About the role

The Service In‑Charge will lead the service department of a reputable automobile company, overseeing all workshop activities for passenger vehicles. The role ensures high‑quality maintenance, customer satisfaction and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the passenger vehicle service department, including scheduling, workflow and productivity.
• Supervise technicians, mechanics, service advisors and other workshop staff to guarantee timely and quality servicing, diagnosis and repairs.
• Coordinate with spare‑parts, sales, warranty and customer‑relationship teams to provide seamless after‑sales service.
• Monitor service performance metrics such as revenue, turnaround time, customer retention and warranty claim handling.
• Maintain accurate service records, warranty claims and ensure compliance with company policies and manufacturer standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in automobile servicing, workshop management or after‑sales operations, preferably with passenger vehicles.
• Strong leadership, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, with a customer‑focused mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet service deadlines and work under pressure.

Required skills

• Technical knowledge of passenger‑vehicle systems: engine, transmission, electrical, electronic and diagnostic systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office and service‑management software.
