Structural Engineer

About the role

GharKarma is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join its architecture, engineering and construction team in Kathmandu. The role involves close collaboration with architects, site teams and consultants on residential, commercial, hospitality and institutional projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of RCC and related building structures.
• Prepare and review structural drawings and detailing.
• Coordinate structural aspects with architects and other engineering disciplines.
• Conduct quantity take‑off, cost estimation and support BOQ preparation.
• Review construction drawings and assess site conditions.
• Carry out site inspections and provide construction support.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants and project teams.
• Identify structural issues during construction and propose practical solutions.
• Support design development from concept through construction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum five years of relevant professional experience.
• Prior site or construction experience.
• Strong understanding of structural design and construction practices.
• Experience with structural drawings, quantity estimation and BOQ preparation.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with architects and contractors.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Experience in hospitality, hotel or resort projects is an advantage.
