Assistant Counsellor

About the role

The Assistant Counsellor is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Kathmandu. Working closely with senior counsellors, you will help Nepali students navigate course selection, university applications and the required documentation for study abroad.

Key responsibilities

• Support senior counsellors in guiding students through the admission and visa processes.
• Communicate with students and families, schedule and conduct initial consultations.
• Prepare application and visa files in line with institutional and embassy guidelines.
• Maintain accurate student records and follow up on inquiries.
• Coordinate with partner universities and institutions.
• Provide timely updates to students on the status of their applications.
• Assist in organizing information sessions, workshops and promotional activities about international study options.

Required profile

• Strong counseling and advisory skills with active listening and ethical guidance.
• Excellent written and spoken communication in English and Nepali.
• Organizational and administrative abilities, attention to detail, record‑keeping, scheduling and time management.
• Basic knowledge of international education systems, admission procedures and student visa requirements.
• Customer‑service orientation and relationship‑building with students and families.
• Comfort with computers and ability to adapt to changing procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with common office software such as word processing, spreadsheets, email and online research tools.
