Recovery Officer – Student Fees Collections

About the role

The Recovery Officer is responsible for the continuous follow‑up and recovery of overdue student fees. This position focuses on proactive collections, accurate record‑keeping, and resolving payment‑related inquiries to minimise outstanding balances and support timely fee collection.

Key responsibilities

• Track student payments and ensure invoices are settled on time.
• Receive and process payments, including cash, cheques and online transfers.
• Contact students or parents with overdue balances to remind them of outstanding invoices and facilitate settlement.
• Handle inquiries regarding invoices, payments and account statements.
• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of accounts receivable transactions.
• Conduct continuous follow‑up on overdue accounts until they are settled.
• Record new commitments for outstanding fees and monitor them throughout the commitment period.
• Enter receipts, maintain related filing and regularly update Google Sheets records.
• Perform any other duties as instructed by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing) in Accounting, Finance, Business Studies or a related field.
• Prior experience in collections, receivables or customer follow‑up roles is preferred.
• Strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Persistence, a proactive results‑driven attitude and professionalism when discussing sensitive payment matters.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Google Sheets.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with basic accounting tools.
