Senior Frontend & WordPress Web Developer

About the role

Devfinity builds custom WordPress sites for businesses across the United States. We are looking for a senior developer who can take full ownership of projects, ensure high‑quality code, and help shape our frontend practices.

Key responsibilities

• Transform Figma designs and mockups into custom WordPress implementations.
• Develop custom themes and reusable, well‑structured components.
• Extend and optimise existing themes without compromising performance.
• Collaborate closely with designers, project managers, and U.S.‑based clients.
• Guarantee responsive, accessible experiences across all devices.
• Optimise sites for Core Web Vitals, SEO, accessibility and page speed.
• Integrate APIs, forms, CRMs, marketing tools and other third‑party services.
• Diagnose and improve existing WordPress installations.
• Mentor junior developers and define frontend standards.
• Advance WordPress processes and practices over time.

Required profile

• 6+ years of hands‑on WordPress development experience.
• Proven track record of building custom themes from scratch.
• Comfortable managing projects end‑to‑end with minimal guidance.
• Proactive, dependable and detail‑oriented.
• Strong pride in clean, maintainable code and fast‑loading sites.

Required skills

• WordPress development (custom themes, Gutenberg blocks, ACF)
• PHP, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, JavaScript
• Responsive web design and performance optimisation
• Tailwind CSS, React (for Gutenberg blocks)
• Git / GitHub / Bitbucket
• Technical SEO, website migrations, CI/CD pipelines
• MySQL, TypeScript, testing frameworks (Jest, PHPUnit)
• Headless WordPress (REST API / WPGraphQL)
• WCAG accessibility standards
• Nice‑to‑have: Elementor custom development, WooCommerce, WP Engine
