Senior Motion Graphic Designer

About the role

Makura Creations is seeking a senior motion graphic designer to lead the creation of high-impact visual content for social media, digital campaigns and brand storytelling. The role combines creative direction, animation production and mentorship of junior designers.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead motion graphics style for social media, websites, print and digital campaigns.
• Conceptualise, storyboard and produce animated videos, reels and brand videos.
• Maintain brand consistency across all visual and motion outputs and evolve brand guidelines.
• Collaborate with marketers, developers and clients, presenting concepts and incorporating feedback.
• Mentor and review work of junior designers, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.
• Manage file organisation, version control and design workflows across projects.
• Stay up-to-date with design and motion trends and introduce fresh ideas.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Motion Design or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in graphic and motion design with a strong portfolio.
• Proven ability to lead projects end-to-end and mentor junior team members.
• Excellent communication, presentation and time-management skills.
• Familiarity with UI/UX tools such as Figma is a plus.
• Experience with 2D/3D animation, sound design or storyboard creation is an advantage.
