Legal AI Subject Matter Expert (Remote Contractor)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced attorney to join our expert network as a Legal AI Subject Matter Expert. Working remotely on an hourly contract, you will evaluate and improve AI‑generated legal responses, ensuring they are accurate, clear, and defensible.

Key responsibilities

• Create gold‑standard legal outputs such as issue analyses, drafting examples, checklists, policies, and memos.
• Evaluate, rank, and provide detailed feedback on AI‑generated legal answers.
• Identify and document errors in reasoning, rule application, procedural steps, and risk handling.
• Fact‑check legal concepts, verify citations, and ensure model outputs respect confidentiality and bias guidelines.
• Test AI responses across diverse legal scenarios to validate reliability.

Required profile

• JD/LLB (or equivalent) with active bar membership or eligibility in at least one jurisdiction.
• Minimum 5 years of professional legal practice (law firm, in‑house, government, or legal aid).
• Proven ability to spot issues, conduct structured analysis, and draft precise legal documents.
• Strong research skills with experience locating and synthesizing primary authority.
• Excellent written English (minimum C1 level) and attention to detail.
