ACCA Trainee – Accounting & Taxation Role

About the role

Join Sterling Wells Kathmandu as an ACCA Trainee and work on accounting and tax projects for UK‑based and international clients. You will collaborate closely with teams in London and gain valuable exposure to global financial standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file financial statements under UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Compile working papers, client packs and reporting documents.
• Prepare and submit corporate and personal tax returns.
• Communicate with clients via email, phone and video calls.
• Draft tax advice reports covering multiple jurisdictions.
• Process payments, vendor invoices, reimbursements, payroll and other AP/AR tasks.
• Liaise with tax authorities for R&D credits, capital allowances, VAT and other claims.
• Perform bookkeeping, account reconciliation and record‑keeping.
• Support research and development of tax and accounting products.

Required profile

• ACCA professional‑level student with strong academic performance.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Excellent computer literacy and ability to learn new software quickly.
• Strong interest in taxation and finance functions.

Required skills

• Knowledge of UK GAAP.
• Knowledge of IFRS.
• Tax return preparation.
• Bookkeeping and payroll processing.
• Client communication across borders.
