Bakery Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Bakery Assistant to join our fast‑casual dessert and ice‑cream parlor, Cream & Sugar, located in Jhamsikhel. You will work full‑time in a vibrant kitchen, supporting daily baking operations and ensuring our customers receive high‑quality pastries, cakes, and breads.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and bake a variety of products following standardized recipes.
• Maintain consistent quality, taste, and presentation of all baked goods.
• Manage daily production schedules to meet outlet and order requirements.
• Operate and maintain baking equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor fermentation, proofing, lamination, and baking processes.
• Specialize in cake frostings, pastries, croissants, buns, doughnuts, bagels, and other baked items.
• Assist in developing, testing, and suggesting new seasonal products.
• Control portioning, waste, and proper storage of ingredients.
• Support inventory management, stock rotation, and ordering.
• Uphold food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards, following HACCP guidelines.
• Coordinate with kitchen and operations teams for timely supply.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the central kitchen workspace.

Required profile

• Age above 20 years (preferred).
• At least +2/ Diploma education completed.
• Minimum 1‑2 years proven experience in the baking industry.
• Strong understanding of baking techniques, dough handling, fermentation, and pastry preparation.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and collaborate with a team.
